Stratford upon Avon

Stratford Climate Action

is a voluntary organisation of local people in and around Stratford-upon-Avon. Our aim is to advance awareness and action concerning the climate emergency as much as possible, in as many ways as possible. We look to bridge community organisation and activism, by organising community events, climate strikes, and by pressing councils, our MP, and other local organisations to take action on the climate emergency. During 2019 we successfully campaigned to get local councils to declare climate emergencies, and for the RSC to drop BP as sponsor. We work on proposals for local alternatives, including on transport and tree-planting, and have put on an eco café and community action days in the town centre.

Extinction Rebellion Stratford upon Avon

is part of the national Extinction Rebellion, and shares its aims and methods, but takes its decisions independently. Contact them via the link above or via their Facebook page at

Stratford-upon-Avon Friends of the Earth

There has been an active Friends of the Earth group in the Stratford-on-Avon district since 1979. The purpose of the group is to campaign on environmental issues and to educate ourselves and the local community.  We manage a small bee-friendly plot in the centre of town and sponsor prizes for bee-friendly gardens as part of Stratford in Bloom.  We have an online “Environmental Book Group” to discuss publications relating to the climate and biodiversity emergencies. We also work collaboratively with other groups, especially on the effects of climate change and the threat these pose to an environmentally sustainable future. Contact us via the link above or at
