Cases against Corporations
The development of climate science, together with increasingly sophisticated computer simulations, has made it possible to
attribute responsibility for weather-related disasters to the CO2 emissions of fossil fuel companies -- see, for example,
Climate change impact on South Africa floods, and Climate change made Europe's summer floods worse.
On this basis, increasing numbers of court cases against fossil fuel companies are being pursued by the victims and potential
victims of these disasters. The deliberate misinformation put out by fossil fuels companies also opens them up to legal action,
for example over their share price, which is high partly because they have suppressed information on the dangers of fossil fuels .
